Devils Monument & Keefer Falls - Bruce Peninsula

There is nothing I love more that to explore the Bruce peninsula during the winter months. You rarely run into fellow hikers and it just feels like you have this entire place to yourself – it’s really so peaceful! It happened to be my friend Mario’s birthday a few days prior so I wanted to take him on a little hiking adventure to celebrate. We packed our bags and made our way to Owen Sound for the weekend.

As we headed up to Owen Sound I wanted to stop in at Keefer Falls, which has been on my list to visit for a while. It is roughly about 2.5 hours from Toronto. It is a very short walk through the woods to get to the base of the falls but make sure to wear good high boots as the snow was totally over my hiking shoes!

On the second day of our trip we ventured to visit a spot called the Devil’s Monument. It is a beautiful 5km loop trail that you can hike to see this amazing free standing limestone pillar in the woods. You ca also go off the loop trail and hike your way to an incredible stone beach to explore. At different parts of the loop trail you will be able to take in some spectacular views of the Peninsula and the magical aqua waters.

As we concluded our adventure I had to pop into the grotto as it is one of my favourite places to always revisit.
